American National Red Cross
Founded by Clara Barton in 1881, the American Red Cross is there when people are in need of help and hope. Congress tasks the Red Cross to povide ways for family members to reach soldiers, airmen, and sailors of American armed forces who are in harm's way. Spearheaded by Commodore Wilbert E Longfellow in 1914, millions of people have learned to swim through American Red Cross Programs.
